BookShelf Downloads

A spin-off from BookCrossing: Shelfstatistics!

Please read carefully the information beneath the yellow box!

Complete BookShelf: OR Books in possession only:
If you need both files, you have to use this procedure twice!

What's this?

While creating a BookShelf-Statistic, all data is also saved into a flat file. So, if you like to have the data of your BookShelf (or just the data of the books still in possession), just PM me (Wyando) and I'll send you a password to get your files.

Remember: the contents of this file equals to the date the BookShelf-Statistic-Page has been created or updated!

This account is for personal use only! If you like to share your files with others, please use your own facilities (email, your webpage, senduit, etc). Thanks.

Why so complicated?

I think that only the owner of a BookShelf should be able to download the data of HIS BookShelf. And: not everyone wants to download his BookShelf... some are just lucky with their statistics ;)

How is that datafile build and which program do I need to use it?

- One record per line, each field seperated by a colon (:). First line defines the different fields.

- As colons are used to seperate fields, all colons INSIDE a field (e.g. title) are replace by a tilde (~).

- Every spreadsheet (e.g. Excel) or database (e.g. Access), which have an so called import file function and which have the possibility to define a fieldseperator (which should be, obviously, a colon :).

BTW: if you didn't understand a word of this explication, well, you probably can live without it :)
